About Jasper

Jasper was born in Tallinn, Estonia in 1985. He received his BSc and MSci degrees from the University of Cambridge, UK, where he undertook a final year project with Professor David Spring to study fluoride free cross-coupling reactions. He then continued with a DPhil at the University of Oxford, working with Professor Andrew Goodwin to study crystallographic properties of layered materials. Graduating in 2015, Jasper subsequently undertook a research fellowship at the National Institute of Chemical Physics and Biophysics in Estonia and has since then started his own research focusing on aromatic and flexible macrocycles and their molecular recognition properties. Jasper was appointed to a senior research fellowship in 2018. In 2021 and 2022, Jasper was a visiting Fulbright Scholar at the University of Pennsylvania in the lab of Professor Virgil Percec. From September, 2023, Jasper is also a Senior Lecturer in Chemistry at the Virumaa College in the School of Engineering, Tallinn University of Technology.
